Easter Long weekend in Portland

Now that I got my visa, i been looking for any opportunity to cross the border :)

I had plan to visit my sister Karen in Portland during the long weekend - too bad (and I dont understand why) the states does not count good friday and easter as stats holiday. On top of that Karen was notified that she will have to work long hours through the weekend.

I was pounding on myself, this is such a good opportunity to visit since i have 4 days off! On Thursday evening, with no long weekend or holiday mood at all (because i decided to work in the store on Friday and Saturday). I came home from work...ready to make snacks/dinner for the girls /movie's night - New moon

I received a facebook comment about Karen's good news - she doesnt hv to work through the weekend lurring me to go!

without hesitation, i packed the baby and me good and off we went...

Friday was a total waste! note to self - never cross the border on long weekend - i departed at 9am to catch BC ferry (because the 10.30am ferry departed from downtown victoria to port Angeles was full when i called at 8am), the sea was rough, i got sea sick from the ferry ride!

here comes the highlight of the trip- see I ve never drove across the border, so I had no idea where is it and how far more to go from where I was stuck! (Traffic Jam) of coz.

if I knew the jam is going to take me 5 freakin hours, i would ve turned back .... finally i was "released" from the Jam at 5.30pm - and the weather is still rough, windy and rainy ... my bumper started falling off and drag on the road along the way , i got honked so many times from the good samatarians pointing it out to me...i know i know! when ur going on 120kmh with 50/60kmh wind blowing across, and hanging bumper? that thing started to act like a sail and keep swepting my car to the right. It was incredible dangerous..i was nervous esp with Alyssa snoring behind...I had to do something about it..so i called darling for help! he suggested to tape it up! good idea! i found a walmart and bought a roll of duct tape and started tape the hell out of my bumper , it worked! and it still duct taped up till now...

I finally arrived at Karen's place safely around 11pm.

Total travel time - 14 hours

was it worth it!? hell yea....besides the shopping - no pictures ...we visited Tulip farms

Few Days ago I had this talk with him..I told him that now that his parents are back, I feel more so of being pushed further and further away ...from my daughter.

I honestly feel that she is loving me less I could feel it from the way she looks at me, and slowly transforming to a mother that could not be seperated to a care taker role....a similar way of putting it, just like a typical indo maid in any household in Malaysia.

I get blamed for things that don't even matter, just because I dont make a big deal out of it or not fighting back I am being push further and further and my back is against the wall now. Oh I see this all the time, happened to my friend, happened to my aunty could easily happen to everybody without they themselves realizing it. A typical male dominant family.

I realised that this is happening to me and still take no action. What can I do? talk? that will only results in denial with whole bunch of arguements and eventually will shut me up again. Start fighting back? that will create miserable in our lives and conclusion of "you ve changed"

And he was wondering why there was no emotion connection from me. The situation is even worse now, everything I do bugs the hell out of him... is that one of the side effects on trying to quit smoking? I kept telling myself it is because I really hope that is it and I can truly understand that..is not that because he truly hates me, he's just snappy.

All I can do is keep my distance. Im heartbroken.

Breast is Best - But at what Cost?

Every parent has seen them - pictures of a serene looking mother smiling down at her peaceful, suckling baby. They're in every medical office, hospital and parenting brochure. It's a beautiful image - one that as a mother-to-be I aspired to.

I was unsure about a lot of things where motherhood was concerned, but whether or not to breastfeed wasn't one of them. I knew that breast milk was the healthiest choice for my baby, and I was looking forward to sharing that special bond with her. I truly believed that once she was born all of the pieces would naturally fall into place.

After a very long labour, I felt like I'd been hit by an eighteen wheeler. Exhausted and delirious, the baby was put into NICU and was hooked on to IV thus she is good for food.

A few hours after delivering the baby, a nurse wheels a breast pump in and nudged my sleeping body. I was suppose to start simulating for the milk to come in.

On day three, I had to start nursing my baby, I was excited and with a help of the nurse, she managed to latch on for a minute or two, still struggling to fully learn how to suck and swallow. On Day four, they were happy with how my baby is latching on and let us go home.

Once my milk came in and we were back at home things improved for a little while, but when my daughter was about three weeks old, I developed a very painful and sore nipples.To help to ease that, and to monitor how much my baby is eating and she is eating what she suppose to, I use the breast pump and store the milk in the fridge, my lovely mother help me to feed throughout the night and baby even sleep with her!

Then at ten weeks, I noticed my milk is coming out anymore, I called the nurse for help and found out that is because I have been using my pump, and it does not create as good stimulation as baby's latch. Thus I had to latch her on.

Up till this point, Alyssa is 16 months and is crazy about nursing, watching her have her eyes close and enjoying it makes it harder to cut her off, not to mention I had tried and fail to do so because she won't take the bottle.

I have to do it, sooner or later, she can't be a 2 years old toddler running around and still run to her mama for boobies. We had learn that the only way is for me to leave the house for a few days and let daddy do the bottle feeding. Which is still pending and needs to be done....

second tattoo itch

Got my first one last summer, and im itching for the second one after Ivana and Suzie randomly got their tattoo done one fine day!

Darling is getting her first one done this Friday. and I want another one too! behind my neck, i know is going to hurt like a b****!! I still havent forgotten about my first experience
it was....very surprising! I thought it was going to feel like licked by a kitten, but noooooooo is like someone is cutting u with a very fine fine blade!!

After the dramatic week, my princess is all better! she's bouncy, she's chatty and guess what! she's going to be walking very very soon! (Im not sure if i look forward to that).she could walk quite a few steps between mommy and daddy and you could tell she loves the achievement!

Took her to a baby talk group - baby's oral hygiene , it was one of my friend's final project (she's in dental school), she was so excited to see all the babies there and was the most active ones among all!

Here's a story to share - hopefully we all benefit from it (story courtesy of Kennysia)

Here’s what happened.

Recently a friend of mine got to know this guy from the UK. After chatting to him online for a couple of months, suddenly this guy wanna fly to Kuching to visit her. At the same time, he claimed he’s gonna look for some investment opportunities.

Obviously my friend was excited to be meeting him.

Unfortunately for her, the meeting never materialised.

On the day he was supposed to arrive into Malaysia, the guy was detained by immigration officers at KLIA. His offence? Not declaring those excess amount of cash in his luggage, reportedly to be some £50,000.

It was her friend’s first trip to Malaysia, and poor guy spent it in the police lockup.

OR SO SHE WAS TOLD.

Upon his arrival, my friend received calls after calls from him desperately pleading for help. She was frantic. All she could think about was how to help him out. She put herself in his shoes, and immediately felt guilty because she was the reason the guy came to Malaysia.

Three days later, another phone call came. It was from the immigration officer, telling her that the UK guy would need to hire a lawyer and pay legal fees to the tune of RM7,000.

This was when I smelt something fishy.

And it wasn’t the bad seafood I ate earlier.

The immigration officer instructed her to deposit this legal money into a Public Bank account. My naive little friend complied.

Desperate to set him free, she transferred RM2,000 of her own money to the immigration officer. She figured, he’s gonna pay her back when he got out anyhow.

But I suspected something was amiss.

Already, I was feeling extremely uncomfortable when she told me the story. I didn’t have a good feeling about this, so hopped on my laptop, searched for “detained at immigration malaysia scam.”

Whaddya know? At least 2 people have blogged about similar experiences. Malay Mail even did a story on such scam.

In the end, I had to do the dirty job - I told her that she’s been scammed.

At first, she was calm and collected. She told me that it doesn’t matter – because money lost can be earned back eventually. And karma will eventually find its way.

Then the floodgates opened. And she cried uncontrollably. How could someone do something so evil like that? How is she even going to trust anyone ever again?

Even more hurtful was the knowledge that this online friend that she’s been talking to for months never actually existed. He was nothing more than a phantom, out to take advantage of her charity and selflessness.

Moral of the story? Never ever give out money to people you’ve never even met.

The past few days were NOT fun!

update on US visa status: approved and I had gotten my passport back

I had to bring Alyssa along to Vancouver because she started having fever on wednesday afternoon and refuse to eat ever since.

Fever comes and go until Saturday which was when we brought her in to see a doc and we were told to send her to the emergency.

A little history on the emergency : they let you in by priority and if your case is not that severe, u might wait for hours and hours.

But thank god we got in right away, we got a bed at around 1pm. After lots of nurses came in to diagnose her, blood work, X-ray - they came to the conclusion - lung infection, the pediatrician decided that she needs to be admitted to the ward for further observation, later of the night her breathing started getting worse, she was really bobbing her body and head to breathe, so they decided to hook the oxygen tube to help her. Finally at 1.30AM there was a bed in the pediatric ward for her and she was in the isolated ward.

All nurses, doctors came were in mask, robe and gloves. I felt butt naked in there with nothing for 3 nights 4 days. (Of coz I caught the virus too)

overall, it was rough for all of us, esp poor baby had tubes all over her and she's just too tiny to be in this condition. I had to feed her the nebulizer for 10 mins every 4 hours to open her lung to help her breathe better, that was the toughest thing to do, i feel like i was feeding my daughter poisonous gas! she was struggling, kicking and looking at me screaming! poor baby... Thank god, We left the hospital yesterday, she is so happy and singing in the car on the way back!

good effect on this, darling is trying to quit smoking, today is his day 5 without ciggies!! and Happy birthday darling!!

Since I have been super boring at work, I decided to bring my blog back to life (its been asleep for a long time)

As much as I love to - I don't want to be complaining about work, no negative energy! shuu! shuu! go away!

how about I am going to Vancouver Tomorrow night!! (yayy!!) wondering if there's anyway I could ponteng kerja so I could go in the morning. I know I know, Olympic is over - whats the point? BUt im glad the madness is over the day that Im visiting the city, I guess Im claustrophobic, I cant stand crowded places, i feel like i cant breathe and probably the reason is because Im not very tall and everybody else is...

The reason im visiting is for my US visa interview - I volunteered myself to travel at work since life in the office is so pathetic and I want to get a chance to be a way from Alyssa for a few days to cut her off nursing and hopefully she will take the bottle (again!)

I love nursing her so much,but she's growing and is going to be weird when she's a toddler running around and still wants mama's boobies...SO WEIRD! so san fu sai darling to be with her and feed her while im gone...reaaaally tough time for the both of them..

There's so much I want to do in Vancouver but so little time!! I want to go exchange the Tiffany bracelet Danny got for me during xmas

he got me this one...which is pretty but once the sterling silver tarnish abit it will not look nice!

so Im going to get this instead, $30 price increase since xmas KNN!!

beads are the "it" thing, Pearls, silver beads, onyx beads...LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I want to eat "All you can Eat", TWICE! Im crazy about the Japanese all you can eat, is so cheap in vancouver, like $15 per person and for great food!

and I want to go visit the fire torch (probably not burning anymore) and take some pictures! I want to take crazy lots of picture with my new camera! I had it since my birthday but haven't really got a chance to take some landscape pictures..it was all portrait of my princess!

I want to meet up with Ada my ex co-worker who I absolutely love and miss! and of coz my US visa , teehee!

been feeling bit off the past two days, mainly because we been trying to arrange and plan things here while we are away... who's watching the dogs, who's watching the store....who can we count on?? thats a very good question.

so all those created some stress and drama, esp to darling, poor thing been feeling low and grumpy these few days. And you ll be surprise how a couple hv their emotion depended on each other.

oh did i mention? Darling, me and Alyssa are all going back to Malaysia for the whole month of september! how exciting!!

well actually this trip is mainly for work - buying trip, we are also trying to hunt for new ideas, products for the stores...hopefully China will be inspiring! *fingers crossed*

I think we only get to spend time in Malaysia for about 10 days but nonetheless, we are excited, Alyssa gets to meet everybody back home, and Im sure mom misses her like crazy! and sisters are excited to meet her! and of coz the fooooood, god bless char kuey teow, asam laksa, bkt etc!!

finally got my hair cut yesterday, been wanting to do that for months but just never got the chance to ! i will snap a few pictures but my cam is dead and im still waiting to receive the new charger i ordered from ebay.

after the hair cut i went to get myself two pairs of jeans, mainly coz im tired of wearing cheap jeans that tear easily...and alot of my old jeans dont fit me anymore...my hips got expanded from pushing a football out of my V. went to see Ray and he hooked me up with some nice skinny jeans!

i feel so pretty today!! :D

My first tattoo experience

I always wanted a tattoo, but just didnt know what I wanted...

After Alyssa was born, I had the sense that I wanted something to do with her, after some researching I put together this, and is gonna be all across my lower back.

the heart suppose to represent me and Alyssa - mama head and baby head, but somehow got misinterpreted as a bird

He started with her name "Alyssa" in case I decided to bail halfway, at least we got the name done :P

Guys it seriously hurt, maybe coz i went in thinking is not gonna hurt at all...

we had to stop coz i was about to pass out! lol i know its so dramatic...but hey alot of ppls black out in the middle of tattoo because of body shock plus low blood sugar

in the end....is worth it :)

Havent been updating for a while, well i been busy but not that busy until i dont hv time to write an entry (heck, not that anyone is keen or anything) - I been rather uninspired , no mood lah...

but I gotto keep it going so when my children grown up, they can read the little letters that I posted here for them, and cute baby pictures of theirs. :)

Alyssa has progressed alot!! she learned to sit up on her own since the Ucluelet trip, and now she can pushed herself to sit up from laying position!! my little girl is growing and developing everyday!! But of coz there are things here and there that concern me, we have to switch her to solid food and thus constipation, feel bad for her little tummy, tried to give her more water and juice to help with that problem and she is rejecting bottle big time coz she is too used to being breastfed.

she has two tiny teeth now! they are sharp! when she laugh(or cry) with her mouth wide open, you could see them, toooo cute! Jenene and Keith visited couple of weeks ago and Jenene finally got to meet Alyssa!! and the both clicked instantly and love each other!

guess what was I doing on 1st of July!? while everybody is out enjoying their day off on a hot sunny day!

of coz...im all pumped up at work in the store thinking -mmmm today is gonna be a good day!

turned out---not so much! there were alot of ppls in their red and white outfits and painted face (in canada flag), but they were not shoppers, just browsers....T_T

just like every year, there were fireworks by the inner harbor, and because of the baby this year, we didnt make it down there coz there were too many roudy drunks.....

we were going to rent a hotel suite by the harbor with balcony and chill there with friends and family but it will cost us $250 for..not even a night!

so after all the debates of what to do...we ended up throwing a small drinking party at my place....we could still hear the firework though when it went off at 10.30pm!

but there were ALOT of booze that night!!

this is the consequences after too much booze, note to self, should ve cook b4 start drinking..

just like any other days, there were bon fire in the middle of summer!! i wonder if one of our neighbours will call the fire department and had all of us busted one day for having illegal open fire in our small tiny backyard!!

and Oh! i signed up an twitter account, i find it abit mou liu unless u got alot going on, like followers and responds, otherwise is just like ur talking to urself the whole time!!

Last night I visited one of the popular so call "celebrity blogger" in sg - xiaxue. And I usually dont read the details of her bitching about something coz is usually super long and is probably just about how much she hates bugs.

But last night, she went on and on to defend herself for bleaching her hair blonde coz some dude secretly took her photo and then criticized her for wanting to be ang moh blah blah blah, seriously if ur interested u can go read urself. u know the url.

and then she went and dig up his history, his parents, his wife, esp his wife!! post ugly pictures of her! well..pictures of her! coz his wife put a comment "im prettier than her without all the plastic she did"

FWAHHHH the war was ooooonnnn....honestly i think alot ppls out there will speak worse things about xiaxue than them...but why they kena? i guess they are unlucky....

lesson - dont offend xiaxue! she will make ur life miserable with her fame and the power of writing and 40k hits a day on her blog! in a way she will make u famous, in a bad way!

but i found it entertaining as alot of them out there did. if i were that dude, i will take this opportunity to fame himself up! instead of deleting his blog......DAMN!

but honestly she's right even thought she provided all the hits for him, he has to be an interesting writer to maintain the hits....if macam me, die loh...update the blog once a week, or sometime not even then...well i guess we all have different priorities, my current priority is of coz my little princess, very closely comes to the business, it seriously depress me when i sit down in the shop all day only have $100 in the till. tough time ppl...tough time.....

but the good news is , im thinking of going back to Malaysia for the whole month of September instead of couple of weeks in January.

dont hv to take any unessecerily leaves - as im starting work in October.
how good will i look after 10 months of maternity leaves and i come back to work for two months and wanting to take another 2 weeks off!? bosses not gonna like me very much
when i go back to work in october, i wanna fully concentrate on my job and my new role...thats right! ill be returning as QA team lead thank you very much. Actually im pretty nervous about that, as a new grad , i feel like i havent learn quite enough in technical field and is almost too soon to be moving up to the management...i dont know but at the same time i find, if i miss this chance right now, it be a longggg time before the next one come. oh well i guess i ll learn as i go...not very excited about leaving Alyssa and go back to work though.

oh well it ll still be 3 months and 1 holiday away!! but it sucks, coz i hv to ffk my friends, we had planned to all meet up back in Malaysia and take a trip to Bali together... i guess i have to dissapoint them...EVERY single time we planned something like that , sure tak jadi, and i thought about that ...WHAT will this time be!? never thought it'd be me....

havent told them yet though...

Trip to Ucluelet and Tofino 2009

Its been a while sinced we make a trip to tofino, i think the last time was 2006, when pooky was just a puppy!!

I been complaining about needing a break, on facebook status, MSN status etc....so my lovely darling get the hint!! big HINT....and arranged this beautiful surprise trip! it was short....but alot of fun!!

Last Sunday I was just at the store surfing the internet, he came in and took my computer and then went to our cottages webpage and show me the pictures, and he said " i dont feel like working tomorrow, and i gotto wake up at 6am in the morning " ...all i saw was a nice deck, and i knew he been talking about building a deck, i was like " what u gonna wake up to go to home depot and start building the deck? i mean is nice...."

I dunno why was i so slow and dissapointed him abit, i was suppose to go in to office on Monday but he called my boss and arranged everything perfectly!! I jumped in joy for the longest time and then i was in this greatest mood and sold alot of bags!! hahaha

I hardly slept that night coz i was so excited - let me tell u something about Tofino, is always been our thing...the beautiful drive up there listening to oldies and bob marley, joking and playing on the way....but this time! there are 5 of us!! both Alyssa and Lex had never been to Tofino!

I been trying to go to the gym once a week, and not just going to the gym joining the fitness classes or to use their cardio machine...

I have my very own personal trainer leh!! lol

dont be ridiculous, do you know how much that will cost me!? is my love husband who is training me...well he's helping me and let me know what to do , lift weights etc...soon enough i would have to be doing it all by myself which will be boring!

I did alot of abs yesterday and i felt the pain in my abs, but thats not the worst!! my abs is bulging out! is like i put on at least 1 inch!!! i hope that will go away otherwise whats the point of working out!

Anyway, after gym and dinner I came home super exhausted and passed out not too long after.

in the middle of the night, i heard this loud "THUP" noise and followed by Alyssa screaming!

I jumped out of bed and quickly realised that she fell off the bed!!! onto the hardwood floor!!! (not carpet)...I felt so horrible and quickily lift her up b4 even turning on the light. once i turned on the light and i realised i was holding her upside down, her head is at the bottom and all i can see are her two legs hanging and kicking infront of my face!

quickily i turned her around hold her in my chest and try to comfort her keep apologising to her....I felt sooooo terrible!! up to now! thank god she didnt hurt herself and stopped crying after a minute. sam tong sam tong, i went back to bed with my eyes open thinking what can i do to avoid this from happening again!

Should I put comforter on the floor as cushion in case if she falls again, or should i get a bed rail to clip on my side to prevent her from falling...but those rails r for toddler, can baby still slip through it? is even more dangerous! why if she got stuck there?

Letter to my girl

Hi Alyssa,

you are growing everyday, mommy and daddy see you everyday and watch you grow, is amazing!! because 5 months ago you were just this 5 lbs of meat loaf, sorry mommy called you a meat loaf , but im sure we ll share the same sense of humor when ur old enough to read this :)

yesterday, mommy tried to put you to nap when we got home, and while you were making all that funny noises on the bed besides mommy, mommy was working on her computer, and i know you have been trying to learn to turn on your own the past couple of weeks. You started to grunt and when i looked over, you were on your tummy and pushed your chest up with both of your arms!!! Mommy is amazed and happy!! and you also started to crawl and move a little bit, I know the next step you gonna be able to sit all by yourself like a big girl!

I cant even begin to tell you how amazing it is to watch you grow and develop everyday! you are a little chat box now, talking, screaming and giggling - all those noises you made are soooo cute to mommy!!

I love you to bits!! and notice your collection of toys is growing bigger too..... mann i think we gonna spoil you my little angel...

11th anniversary

been extremely busy with being a mother and the new store...

seriously 7 days a week, but Darling was so sweet and gave me a day off yesterday. It was a surprise, i was wondering why hasnt he woke me up and my instinct told me that we are kinda late for work.

But then he came to me and said, you sleep ok? this is your partial anniversary present, u get a day off with Alyssa...I ve arranged for someone to take care of the store..

I was sooo happy and kinda woke up from the joy...but me and Alyssa had such a great afternoon on the couch watching FRIENDS..and we walked to the mall in the afternoon and bought presents for daddy. Thats right, my only day off , i got to get those presents sorted out!

Today is our 11th anniversary, is amazing!! I been with the same man for 11 years and loving it! Only this year we have a little cutie pie which we are sooo deeply in love with :D

I am content...Who cares i have to work 7 days a week? who cares if i have to eat porridge everyday? I have peoples i love around me, to cheer me up, to lick me every morning (the dogs) ,and to love me back!

aaaaaaanyway, I woke up this morning with a terrible sleep, on mothers day Alyssa first present was - cry 10 times throughout the night + kicking me in my stomach!

anyway Darling brought flowers home and used Alyssa `s tiny hand to hand me the card, when I was reading the card in bed, and she was in my arm starring at me with the curious eyes, is so surreal, as though she really wrote me that card and got excited as i was reading it hahahha it was the cutest thing!

We got up get ready and I put on a new dress for Alyssa just for the occasion, and we headed out for dim sum with Mom and dad and Su Ann. The food was good but we ALMOST let the bad service ruined it...ALMOST!! lol

Was a walmart yesterday to return Alyssa's swing, how could i possibly carry a baby and a box of swing and walk into walmart without dropping any of it ?

thats right! i cant, thus as i pulled in the parking lot, alyssa was asleep behind in her car seat. so i though of a good solution, to bring a cart and put her car seat and the swing in the cart and push them in.

so i left alyssa in the car and walked about 30 steps to get the cart, when i returned, two ladies were there by my car...

in my heart i was like what the hell happen! i was gone for less than a minute...she was yelling at me when she found out it was my car that how I shouldnt leave my baby in the car, and she called the cops...

WTF!? I felt so confused and tried to explain but that old bitch wont let me talk!

I left and an hour later when we got home , a cop car was waiting infront of my house......

cops and ppls in victoria have too much time in hand??? and nothing better to do!?

Daddy shared some strawberry with Alyssa, she has this love and hate mix feeling towards the strawberry... she will keep sucking on it...after a while, she ll make a sour face....and beg for more!! is the cutest thing to see!!

Alyssa had her second set of vaccines today, she did good! hurt me to see the needle being jabbed all the way in her thigh, im talking about all the way!!! she cried a little bit but recover very quickly.....

My princess is feeling droopy and is asleep with her bunny now....

Im getting a kick out of buying and selling on UsedVictoria.

Used victoria is a site that allows local post free ads to sell their stuff - there's a saying "a man's junk is another man's treasure!!"

Is like - I cant go out shopping? i ll do it online! lol well at least im selling stuff and making some money too!

Got Alyssa's swing from there for $40, and i sold it for $65 after using it for a few months.

Sold a jogging stroller, and Alyssa's big stroller and buying her a new one! (I go to the mall with her alot so i need a smaller stroller to manuever around between those clothing racks!)

sold her bath tubs and bought her new one! (k, the reason is i need a deeper bath tubs so her body will be soak in the warm water, thus she wont get cold!)

sold 2 of my wedding dresses and 2 more to go!

God!! im addicted to that site, the thing is im waiting for emails like every minute! waiting for someone to write to me telling that they are interested at the stuff that im selling!

You did the cutest thing last night, you kept sucking on your thumb, and I tried stopping you several times, finally , mommy got impatient and swing your hand away from your mouth and said "Alyssa NO!"

you starred at me blankly... dare not move at all...and finally the edge of your lips curl down, and you were holding in your tears...

Mommy cant believe that you understand that kind of tone! I did that last month and you laughed at me thinking that Im playing with you... but with your reaction yesterday, is like u were telling me "mommy you never scolded me before, why are you doing that..."

Its been a while since I did anything drastic to my hair...because I had such a bad experience the last time.

Similar to the last time I had to get it re-done, because the PROFESSIONAL hair stylist from AVEDA f****ed my hair up.

So initially i approached wanting longer version of Rihanna hair cut...

or longer version of Victoria Beckham hair cut

so you get the idea right?

and I know we all have different hair texture , face shape , blah blah blah so it will turned out different...

but seriously, this professional hair stylist from AVEDA again, messed it up so badly at my baack! the side looks pretty good, but the back looked like what my mom described "bitten by dogs", or my savior hair stylist described "had a fight with someone and lost"

It was uneven and there was no shape at all.

so eventually, I had to get it redone by someone else and it is now shorter than Rihanna and bout the same length as Victoria...

Could you believe it? 6 millions peoples skipped work on Monday because the snow storm (largest in 18 years) stopped bus and subway service.

These are the determined Londoners

Weather is extremely unpredictable, because of global warming yada yada... but it is getting scary, imagine in the future we ll have a picture of KL twin towers cover in snow..GASP! remember the movie "the day after tomorrow" ??

I remember two years ago, there was a similar case in Victoria, the whole city shut down but of coz the lost is not as big as London, ppl failed to go to work due to bad road condition but they managed to drive their family to beacon hill park and have fun riding down the slope.

of coz we did the same thing too!! haha

However, this year's hit two weeks b4 xmas was bigger than two years ago, but the city buses remain working and all the main roads were drivable, I guess the city is better prepared this time, and ppls do learn from their mistakes.

hopefully London will learn from this and be better prepare in the future...

err i have one more question, what about weather forecast? didnt they see this coming?

since Alyssa's full moon, I have been coming down and work in the store with the thought of, if im gonna be sitting my ass at home and sleep to pass time, I might as well come sit down in the store and see if i can make a buck or two (Yes it is that slow during winter time)

To my surprise business has been incredibly good due to the sales I have going on, EVERYTHING 1/2 off!

Peoples could not resist that, just in case they missed the big sign i have up in the window, I reassure they are aware of the sales by telling them again once they stepped in.

you could see their eyes lit up immediately, some just amazed, looked around and walked out. Some die die also must find something because is too good of a deal to miss! This, I like, This, is what we call Kiasuness.

True , it is not much profit to have a sale like this, but at this situation, everybody is struggling to make sales. Seriously, because our store is kinda hidden, I had to keep the door open so that ppl notice us even though I am freezing in here.

Its worth it when you closed the store knowing you made a few hundreds bucks in the till, but sometimes you have $0 or should I say negative ( after rent, utility and everything) and on top of that you put in your effort and had to freeze your ass.

Right at this moment, I have an annoyin woman wondering in the store , she spent 45 mins picked a 40 dollars box, paid and left, and then she called and told me there's a tiny small chip on her wooden box and now here she is again , had me lay all the available boxes infront of the table and she's been starring at them for 30 mins now...the best part is, Im making ZERO profit out of this box. GRRRR!!!

Sigh... 挽吃真艰难！！ Because of the economic Tsunami, business dropped like hell! December is highlight of the month, but thanks to the snow storm, ppls stayed in the mall for their xmas shopping and outdoor stores like us 吃西北风。

So far year 2009 is a good start, hopefully the arrival of Alyssa will bring us luck and prosperity! call me superstitious but I do believe in that.

January 19 - our first wedding anniversary

Today January 19th is exactly our one year anniversary - honestly i dont remember that at all and a friend congrats me on msn.

How did she remember? thanks for our wedding favors - fridge magnets with our picture and wedding date printed.

so she saw the date when she opened the fridge :P what a great favor idea!! lol

anyway, dont feel sorry for me coz my hubby is not around during our wedding anniversary because we had way too many anniversaries and decided to void most of them and only celebrate the day that we officially dated as a couple.

May 21st 1998 - that is the day we met each other at Sunway Pyramid, it was a blind date ( I known him through MIRC) - I was 17, we had lunch at Dave's Deli, cruised around the mall and he got me a beatles album - HELP. Because we both didnt have our driving license yet , he was a gentleman and paid for a cab to get me home.

February 7th 2003 - that is the day we sworn infront of our witnesses and signed the registry paper, thus we are legally a wedded couple! Both of our family members attended and then we all went for a nice meal in a nice restaurant. At night we stayed over at a hotel and had a few friends over for drinks and celebrated our ROM.

January 19th 2008 - That is the date we finally throw a wedding back home, there were actually 3 different days, dinner reception for the bride's family, the wedding day, and dinner reception for the groom's family. I know! tiring but for my arguement, it took me about a year to plan the wedding and I kinda dont want it to be all over with in ONE day, so i spreaded them to 3 days and it was really really fun! i get to be a bride for 3 days!!

so you get my point, it will kill the whole purpose of having anniversary if you are celebrating 3 anniversaries in a year! soooo May 21st will always be the one, ever since 10 years ago...

Mom asked me yesterday

"Those friends who come over all the time are usually darryl's friends, you dont have many friends here huh?"

It is true, I mean Darryl's friends are my friends and i really enjoy their company too! But I do notice i dont put any effort, ANY! or up to the point of avoiding meeting new ppls , new friends.

Thank god my husband is a "people person" with excellent networking skill and always involve me in his social circle. Otherwise you can pretty much picture my social life.

Im not antisocial, I did really try, but everytime I meet a pretty cool friend, after hanging out few times, I tend to pick out their little weaknesses and let them bother me big time! time and time again! this really puzzles me, I know the problem is clearly with me, I am being super judgemental , is like subconciously , I am sabotaging myself.

Mom said something interesting to me " I guess you are like me, i dislike hanging out with friends too often, I ve even told them to their faces, I mean being friends doesn't mean we have to see each other all the time right? we can just yum cha once in a while...."

Is that the same? I think at some point yes..... Maybe I love hanging out in a big group , so the attention is well distributed instead of focusing on ONE person.

sigh...I dont know. I ve stopped trying..

We went to the doctor yesterday and you weigh 6lbs 10 ounces now!! wow, mommy is so happy and a little shock to hear that, you gained almost a pound now! doctor said new born usually lose weight once they r born and takes 2 - 3 weeks to go back to birth weight, but you are a super ninja! at 3 weeks and you exceeded your birth weight by a pound!

You have been also fussing alot lately, giving us esp your grandma hard time. But you like it when mommy press your head against my chest and often fall asleep. That is mommy's favorite moment with you too.

mommy can't wait for you to grow a little more, so u ll be able to see the world clearer, with color, and to hear your laughter too!

I ve got alot of the same questions from friends recently

"Are you following the confinement?"

They asked as though it is an option - is it really an option?

Yes I am following it, but the truth is - I dont know if i really believe in most of the rules.

There is no doubt about the strict diet we are on. I mean Chinese remedy has been existed for thousands of years , and Im more than happy to put up with the horrible taste.

but! some of those rules, ridiculous RULEZZZ like:

not allow to get out of the house?

forbidden to shower, wash my hair?

can't cut baby's fingers nail? (they are super long and sharp!)

cant' drink water (only heaty water aka tong sim water)

Drink as much DOM, Hennessey and rice wine as possible! (helloo?? wht about breastfeeding?)

etc!

Is bad enough to cope with the postpartum, and to add these rules!? god! is driving me crazy!

Thankfully my mom isnt THAT strict, we were out shopping once. and NOP not on boxing day, it was too soon yet. and im super happy to even accompany darling to London Drugs to pick up an ear phone. Just to get out of the house! seriously sad.

of coz there are pros and cons, the pros are - everything is taken care of for me!

I seriously cant imagine having to wake up every 2-3 hours to feed during the wee hours, to cook, do laundry and house work during this period of time... I can go starving but I cant put up with not having enough sleep!

I questions about those rules every single day, like are they really nessecerily?

I am annooyed, super annoyed, at the rules, at the situation , at mom basically (the nagging, changing too much around the house - where we sleep, where the dogs sleep, asking same questions over and over again) - and found myself feeling guilty at the end of the day coz im giving too much attitude, but but, everything is soo overwhelming!!

I feel like my head could blow up anytime!

what can i do to make myself feel better? Im only two weeks through.....

highlights of 2008 - hello 2009!

Yesterday was the new year celebration, we had a few frens over for dinner and drinks followed by countdown.

when 12.00 strike, we opened champagne and everyone suppose to look back to 2008 and state the "highlight" of the year.

2008 was a big and good year for me!!

I had a few HIGHLIGHTS alright...

January 2008 - Had our big fat wedding back home, total of 700 guests and we had a blast!

June 2008 - Finally! 7 years of school and hell - Im FINALLY DONE!

May 2008 - Found a great company to work at, great ppls ! great environment! Im happy and content....

From April to Dec 2008 - went through 9 months of pregnancy, smooth sailing except for the last two months.

Dec 2008 - Went through alot of pain and "pop" our beautiful Angel out - Now Im a mom!!

Wow, *pat on shoulder* I did achieve alot in the past year, and pretty much got year 2009 plan - ill be a full time stay home month for a year! hey, is not as simple as it sounds - i see alot of work and effort needed for this year.

Welcome my little angel - Alyssa Liu born on Dec 20, 2008 at 2.33am
weight 5lbs 14oz and 50cm long.

The process was quite something , i def did not see THIS much coming

After 16 hours of active labour, and she's finally out

She stayed in NICU for couple of days because she was having hard time breathing and her lung is suspected infected

She's all better and able to breath normal the next day!!

Heads up - This blog will be transformed to all about my little angel in coming future :)

Mom is arriving this Friday, I am so excited to see her! words cannot express how grateful I am that she's willing to come this far to take care of me and her grand child.

Up to the point that she is stressed about learning everything ! picking up herbs, food, confinement dishes etc...

I called yesterday and she was having fever, 2 days before she suppose to fly and she was still out on the road trying to finalize things, handling off her work, packing, and make sure my brother is taken care off. I mean she even sound exciting to make all these good food for me and Darryl, well esp Darryl because ill be confined to certain kinda food i can have.

I might not feel this grateful towards mom all the time, but this really touched my heart and i wanna sing " si shang zi you mama hao", nothing like your own mother.

I do feel lucky.

I havent been updating my journal...I think blogging has been replaced by facebook, plus i dont spend that much time online no more..well except when im at work, my facebook will be on , almost all the time.

time flies, im 8 months pregnant now, 6 more weeks to go, and for some reason I had this strong feeling that she's gonna come early, we got everything ready, well everything that we could think of. I ve been in and out Toys R us so much! and because of xmas season, the checkout counters are always busy! and toys are not cheap!!! I stood in line watching hundreds and hundreds of dollars spent on just in toys!!

I know this make me sound so old but kids these days are freakin lucky!! thanks to technology, they hv the coolest stuff ever! even I was seriously amazed with that!!

for example : everyone's favourite muppet - Elmo with lively movements, 2 songs, 2 stories, 2 games, 5 jokes - going for 70$!! and they are the hot seller,
i watched this 4 years old kid stood infront of the display unit, tickle the elmo and it ll start singing, she was happy!jumping and clapping , in my heart was like "wow, it really make them this happy?", and once the music stopped she kept going for two more times, and walked away coz she was bored already...

wth? $70 to keep the kid amused for 15 mins? pssshhh!

19 days before the election day and the polling pull the two presidential candidates more and more apart. 8%, 8 points! can McCain still catch up before the big day?The debate last night was intense, lots of accusations and I could really sense McCain's anger and desperation - attacking his opponent about his "spread the wealth" tax plan. That obviously didn't work!

you make more than $250,000 a year - an extra of $2000 you contribute to your "great" country wouldn't be such big deal, will it? none of this apply to me or my family but honestly if i could make that much a year, I seriously won't mind that, unless the it started out with insanely high tax bracket.

I am just entering my third trimester and already freaking out about the labor.

I know is not until 3 months from now, but a fren was in labor yesterday and i went to the hospital, her contraction started on wed morning 1am, and the baby didnt come out till thursday morning 3.45am!! thats like almost 27 hours!!! Poor thing...

we were there b4 the baby was born and b4 she got the epidural, the door was open and i was standing outside, i could hear her scream and moan! that freaks the hell out of me!!! her mom and sisters had to leave the labor room and sob outside coz it hurts them to see her in so much pain.

i know everybody is different but this seriously freak me out good, on the other side they were two women gave birth in the room next to hers, and the wall is pretty thin, so they could hear everything, one of them had the baby without a single moan, all they heard were whole bunch of talking - which i assume the doctors were giving instructions. and next thing you know they heard "yayyy!" big cheer to the new born.

The "Lekor" night

Last week darling was craving for keropok lekor, so i decided to google the recipe and turned out it wasn't hard at all! There were like 3 ingredients, fish, tapioca flour and salt!

making the fish paste was a bitch! pick the bones, slice the meat then mince them..urg! smelly!

When im done making the dough n boiled the lekor, while waiting for them to be dried in the low heat oven, I called home to speak to mom but she wasn't home, so i spoke to my little brother instead - so i proudly told him

" Im making keropok lekor lehhhhh"

and he replied
"ohhhh i bought those from pasar malam last night, wahhh so nice with the chili sauce, you got the chili sauce or nottttt????"

He loves to tease me with food that i love - but I felt like a donkey after spending all that effort n sweat and he told me cockily ohh i just bought it from pasar malam..........

well anyway....they turned out pretty good, erm back home u probably paid 3 or 4rm at pasar malam for the small portion we made.

Have been extremely inactive in keeping my journal. But everytime i came in here and tried to create a new post, i dont know what to write...is like nothing interesting is happening. Actually not true. Now that Facebook is becoming so big, I usually do my photos update there.

Anywayyy yesterday this came into my mail : Free Cruise Voucher for 2 plus 1300$ spending money!

No they did not randomly picked my address, but i got a call from Imperial majesty Cruise Line Vacation from Florida and they told me about this good deal! with alot of hesitation and more greed and kiasuness, i gave them my info (except credit card).

Looks legitimate right!? to claim my free cruise, i gotto call this tollfree number, which i havent done so.... hmmm should I?

Butch and his fiance Mayo visited us from Japan last week. Its sooo nice to see him again after two years! we really enjoy their company and too bad it was such a short trip :(

Anyway update on Baby Liu!

She's kicking harder and harder as she grows and sometimes it annoys me a little bit. Both our moms commented the same thing when they were pregnant with us, and of coz we both turned out to be hyper kids....I guess our baby is going to be Trouble with the capital T! Thanks to her us!

We started looking at baby stuff in Toys R us. and all i can say is "WOW" they are not cheap! cribs, stroller, crib bedding, mattress, diaper genie, baby carrier, receiving blankets, baby monitor etc etc!!! I cant even find an old school breast pump! they are all electric operated and cost more than $130! I called mom immediately after and give her list of things to bring, nothing big of coz, teehee!

Im more than half way through my pregnancy, I gotto say is one hell of an experience, besides the fact that my second trimester is not as enjoyable as the first. (headache, back pain, fatigue) But Im still trying to keep some positive energy in me. well.....try...

Went for my second ultrasound for gender assessment last week, I told everybody that Im pretty sure is a boy......turn out I was wrong! we are having a baby girl! and She is such an angel, im amazed with the 3D technology, i could see her wiggle her face and she was showing us all her funny expression, it was amazing!!

Two nights ago, I woke up about 4 in the morning - initially to the washroom, but then when i returned to bed i kept thinking about my interview in a few hours. I got nervous and couldnt go back to sleep.

I thought ill watch some TV just to relax myself and hopefully i could fall back to sleep.

But man turning on the TV got me all excited! It was the Olympic opening ceremony live from Beijing!!

My jaw dropped and i was soooooo impressed with the performances and the fireworks!

Is amazing how China kept their rich culture that was passed on even from hundred years ago, the authentic music instruments, wushu and water painting. Thousands of performers on the floor moving in unity, talking about team spirit eh?

WE had fun at Keith and Jenene's going away party, so this is what is like to stay sober and awake until the end of the party huh? but Im very glad I did. Because of all the good "fun" i got from rushing Pooky to the vet hospital.

I was just looking back at Pooky's puppy pictures. Gosh I missed his puppy hood soooo much! yea he was pain in the butt, he chewed, hyperactive etc......and I remembered thinking "i cant wait for him to grow older and mellow down abit", I bet this is how our parents feel, when we are being rebellious and make them sad, they will be thinking about when we were just their babies. How sweet and obedient we used to be....

Spoke to mom on the phone yesterday and we were making plans for the baby, and she made this comment "you should really get rid of your dogs lah, they are playful, they gonna step on the baby by accident one day when you are not watching....etc" these are just dogs to her, but for us, they are our babies and big part of the family too!

Both of our dogs are pretty much grown up now, Lex still acts like a giant puppy and he always will, but he has grown out of his puppy hood, he stopped chewing, start giving abit of attitude. sighhhh teenager........ and i never took as many pictures of him when he was a puppy as opposed to Pooky, well u know .....first child... :)

I cant believe Im going to be a real parent soon! and as my tummy is growing bigger, i been stressing about who's is going to take care of our little baby, I dont want to leave a few months old to a day care and strangers. I wish I could stay home for a few years, but i had just gotten out of 7 years education and started my career. Well this is a big dilemma.... We need a better solution than day care.

Havent really got a break this week, well actually thats not true, we got 1st of July Off - Canada Day, and I got 2nd of July off too - my Nausea day!

Because this nausea thing has been really affecting my work hours, last two weeks i left work early because of that and last month i stayed home a day because of that!! so i wrote my boss an apology email and promised her i will come in on saturday to make up for it. and she was very understanding, so on Saturday morning, i decided to sleep in and went in to work about 10 to noon, and when i went in the office she was there waiting for me!

God know how long she been waiting, but she claimed to be needing my reload station for her demo next week in California. But is the management on my ass now!? i cant help but to wonder....after the review/feedback i had last week, of coz i got a typical shit sandwich, started with my good performance, then some shit and end with some more compliments. Now they wanted me to start writing everything i do down and i had to submit my weekly report to her every week so she knows what i ve been working on!

Im not sure if im comfortable with that, they claimed to be this is not just me but they dont really know what others been working as well so is kinda everybody's issue, so why dont everybody have to start submitting report!?

I tried to comfort myself by saying because my boss travel alot and most of the time she's not around so she would like to know what i been working on.

Or maybe i have two roles now, they r sharing me with customer support and QA so they wanna make sure i spend equal amount of time on each role.

I dont know!! *SHRUG* but i definitely dont like the idea though, i keep my daily notes anyway so is not like is extra work for me to be submitting this report and guess i have to try HARDER to do my job BETTER!!!

come to think about it now, when im over my probation week, i might wannna take a year maternity leave off instead of 5 months coz i was trying to be NICE!!!

Foreign workers eating dog meat

KLANG: Stray puppies are ending up as meals for foreign construction workers keen on reducing their food bills.

Indonesian construction worker Wagang Saring said the high prices of food and the need to send as much money to families back home had forced him and his friends to eat pooches.

“Puppies are the best as their meat is tender,” said the 37-year-old Saring. “The meat gives us energy to work at construction sites. Three puppies will do for five men.”

Saring was approached by The Star at a petrol kiosk in Bukit Tinggi after he was seen hitting a puppy with a piece of wood.

He knocked out the puppy with two blows and carried it back to his kongsi where his friends had already built a fire.

Fellow Indonesian worker Marcel Jeheta, 30, said the large number of stray dogs in Klang provided ample supply of meat.

Jeheta, who comes from Flores Island, said dog meat was a popular source of protein back home.

“Dog meat is widely eaten in Flores Island and we continue the practice in Malaysia,” he said.

A check around the construction site found many dogs, mostly females, that appeared to have littered recently . But there were no puppies in sight.

Cleaner Suriyati Norsalim, 40, from central Jawa, was quick to point out that only some Indonesians ate dog meat.

“Only those from Flores Island, who are not Muslims, and some non-Muslim Bataks (from Sumatra) eat dog meat,” she added.

Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Thu, 25, who works at a factory in Klang, said she noticed her countrymen eating more dog meat recently.

She said dog meat was a popular delicacy in Vietnam.

Animal welfare activist Sabrina Yeap said dog eating was gaining momentum among foreign workers because there was no law against it. “It is not illegal and so no action can be taken against those who do so,” she added.

Yeap, who manages the canine sanctuary Furry Friends Farm, said it was time the Government banned dog eating as it involved inhumane killing methods.

What the fuck!? just because those puppies do not own by anyone doesnt mean ppl can randomly grab them and use them for food!!! this is outrageous!!! COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! i sincerely hope these ppl get burn in hell!!!!

Things at work had slowed down a lot, well ups and down. I guess this is different compared to Schneider. In Schneider Basically tasks were given for the whole month or two, thus that kept me incredibly busy! I liked that because it motivated me and kept me moving. And I can actually organize my schedule way better!

But here I noticed I sit around a lot waiting for fixes, or equipment availability before I can proceed. The flow is not consistent. Well I guess I shouldn’t be complaining much considering the “tough time” I went through to get A job even. And I do know the fact that many of my course mates are still in that position of “looking”. I sent an email to the “management” to sort of ask for feedbacks about my performance and hopefully things I can improve. I was hoping they will bring up the fact that it seems like I have no motivation. Cause I don’t! But instead of doing this through emails, they decided to go out for lunch with me this Friday and do this face to face! *GASP!* oh well, ill take it like a trooper!

It is quite a drag to sit around to wait for that time of the day – 1700 hour! I want constant work that will make my day go by so quickly, is like before I know it is 4.30pm and damn I need to stay late to finish things up! (Well I guess ill be complaining again when that time comes) man! Am I ever gonna be happy!?

Is been such a rollercoaster ride for me for the past month. Crazy emotion mixed with laughs and tears. I don’t know if I can take any more of these. I need a new balance in my life and consistency. But my heart is still not pounding in consistent beat yet. How long more will it take? I think it is going to be much longer than I thought.

As much as I would like to blame it on my hormone but I know is not. It was me messing up my own mind as well as others. I sincerely apologized for that. And I will put the pieces back together again. I will try very hard and is probably going to take a long time.

Second check-up and little update

All my worries about my little one have officially gone yesterday after my second check up yesterday, the ultrasound looks good, blood test, urine test everything seems normal. and the most amazing thing is I got to hear about my baby's little heart beat!!

It was soooo amazing! and I wanted to share with everyone right away!

A little update:

Karen and Sean r in town and we just came back from our road trip to the canadian rockies (will upload some pictures soon), we were on the road for 5 days and weather was great all the way, of all the camping gear we packed, we only camped on the first night. which kinda sucks coz i wanted to camp more. Saw all kinda wild life on the road it was absolutely priceless! esp the baby black bear who attempted to climb on our car.No actually he did climbed on for a few seconds, before we totally freaked out and drove away.

Work is going fine, my colleagues are lovely and I love my boss, she's so understanding for giving me so many days off when my sister's in town. My convocation is tomorrow and i been waiting for years for this day! too bad my mom is not here to witness this :( but oh well most ppls I love are around me. I am very lucky in that sense.

Karen and sean are leaving on Thursday, so much for fun two weeks, im gonna miss them so much, and from then Im just gonna take good care of my baby. :) I cant wait to see him/her to grow bigger and bigger inside me :)

we are taking off for road trip tomorrow, only two days of work this week, and three days last week, how good can life be huh? except that im getting fatter and fatter and i hate seeing that !! looking myself in a mirror, but of coz thats inevitable!

I realised i havent been updating for a long time!

me and the baby is good, i had an ultrasound taken yesterday coz i was spotting few weeks ago. but im worried for the longest time......finally got an ultrasound and pheeeeew baby 's heart beat is 135 per min. at least the little heart is still beating..

although is only at a size of a peanut, 11mm, thats TINY!!! but we took a pic of the ultrasound and i cant wait to see the baby grow...

This week has been crazy, i was up in Banff, Alberta for training, is a ski resort 2millions tourists a year! I didnt had a chance to go around but is ok, coz karen and sean are gonna be here next week and we are taking a road trip up there! i cant wait!!!!

and i told my boss about my pregnancy and she's extremely supportive! she's moving me to full time next month!!! HOW EXCITING!! i really need the hours...

So i had an interview last friday and was told will hear from them in two weeks coz she will be out of town..

but i got a call 2 in the afternoon and told me to come in at 3pm, i asked what issit about and she wouldnt tell me.

So i rushed to the office thinking in my head " dont call me in just to tell me im rejected" but of coz...i went in she was holding a file folder and brought me to the meeting room this time instead of her office.

she open it and there it was! the offer letter with my name on it!!

she slowly goes through it and i was just so concerned about the pay coz when she asked how much I want and i was stupid enough to say 20$/hour, and i should ve given a range or even 25$!!!

thats shitty pay! but hey the job descriptions sound like something i will really enjoy, wireless, sql, auto ticket vending machine and bus farebox.

challenging and my role is second level support, QA and bugs fixing....got my hands on everything, she will be out of town alot so i will hv to be quite independent which is quite fine....

and thre are about 30 to 40 bugs sitting in the database for me to fix.... i mean not knowing anything about the products/softwares....and something like that to get started...pretty steep learning curves and challenging!

think i just got a tiny bit of orgasm from that lol, just kidding!

I ve been slacking in writing entries here, (not to say i have lotsa readers/ so call fans waiting for me to put new post and go yay)

but anyway , Life is same ol for me, still playing poker online alot, except that i been also cleaning and cooking alot more. Playing alot of tennis which im getting better and better at :)

I ve been also applying to a few jobs online, while im playing poker :P and got this call for an interview which was held earlier of today. Is a pretty small company, but the job description is exactly what i like! customer support, R&D and wireless!!!

Im pretty excited about it and the interview went well...it was just a casual one, and this is the first person they are bringing in to the company as a support role. so chances r they gonna grow really fast and huge potential of climbing the corporate ladder.

I really hope I will get this job. She seem like a really sweet person and someone that i will enjoy working with.

I was just reading the famous blogger in Singapore - Xiaxue, 's blog. And she had all these pictures of her trip in langkawi posted up, and she made a comment about how they were paying her for all these luxury treatments!

man it was really something, wat did she really have to do to become all famous so all these sponsors will pay her so that she would mention them or put pictures up in her website?

is crazy isnt it? and that's her fulltime job. (well that part is abit pathetic)

I cant help but to wonder what kinda life would that be...you were just paid to go travel, try out nice food in nice restaurants, or anything fun really.... ahhh it is my fantasy now to have someone to pay me to do so...

ah well, or or! what about striking a lottery!? hahha clearly i am dreaming, honestly i ve been in my dream for the past month - everything seem unclear, blurry....

Warning : this is a strictly makan trip....

alright I lied, we lived like kings and queens when we were there, got to live in one of the newest hotel in town, so everything is brand new!! so much better than the last one we stayed in, the carpet in the hallway smell like pee. yuck

well anyway i didnt take any pictures this whole trip coz my eyes were still recovering, and i knew i traveled with my sister, and i tell ya, she was snapping non stop!!

but of coz thanks to her great photography skill... we got these great pictures!

We stopped by this restaurant by the street, they said thai fried rice is the best, but i made better fried rice than this, other dishes like deep fried pork feet were pretty good!

My brother is super happy when he gets food, so m i...i love him!

we went for thai traditional massage everyday - for 240baht /2 hours, which is about 24RM or 8$! i felt bad for them so i tipped them alot!

I ve been waking up 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Yesterday for some reason I couldnt go to sleep till 5am, I gave up and popped a sleeping pill and be gone.

woke up 1 afternoon, go to the kitchen and ate another one and gone till 6pm when darling came home.

I might as well be in a coma eh?

Dont you just love your jobless days? I dunno about yours but mine was pretty much the same everyday. At this moment, i wish I have two kids to keep me busy...

woke up around 1 to 2 ish, star blankly into the computer screen, checked emails, facebook, blogs the usual stuff.

finally got my ass up and cleaned the coffee table and kitchen. then start digging into the freezer and brainstorm wats for dinner/ lunch.

Then defrost, chopping, washing, stir frying (a little tip : the killer for stir fry is nice white pepper! u know those from sarawak.)

Then i will enjoy the meal infront of TV watching those hk series I brought back. (which im almost out of them!)

Then I will get on the phone with darling hear him complain how bored his day is.......and I will tell him the same thing:

so am I!!!

the Iron Ring Ceremony

It was the Iron ceremony yesterday, because I still havent unpack, and my camera is drowned in one of my suitcase. Thus I dont have any picture. The ceremony is close door anyway, no camera and friends are allowed, only the recipients and presenters are allowed.

After an hour of boring ceremony, i felt so stuffy in the small room with 400 other sweaty enginners. We finally got our ring. it was nothing great, but it meant something... it meant years and years of hard work, and it carries our obligations as engineers. We had to read our oath holding a big iron chain on our right hand, i have to admit the whole ceremony is weird.

Anyway the highlight of the day is partying with bunch of engineers. they scattered around downtown, some at hugos, some at social club, we went to element, I danced my ass off before I decided to suddenly pass out. Darling brought me back to the store, which thank god only 10 mins walk. and he wasnt feeling good and we took a nap on the couch behind.

I woke up around 3 feeling better, and drove us and doggies home.

When I came to work this morning, I saw D's car is still there, they must ve still asleep in the hotel room, wonder if they got lucky? haha

anyway it was nice to see everybody again, but when i was at the club last night, I was looking down at the dance floor, although my mind was a little bit tipsy, but I saw a pool of ppls, mostly women danced their ass off, there is a corner of stuck-up asian chicks, swirling their body to get attention, but of coz they are not as wild as the white chicks, rocking their body and booty hard! and males were just around where I am checking them out, saw M dancing with one after another, change women as the song changes, and was told that P was making out with this woman wildly on the couch, they almost had sex on that couch!

I told darling I will really hate this kinda life, will you prefer it? and of coz he said No, mei sei koh mehh, haha but I do believe him.

Isnt it empty life like that? I mean i have friends going out every weekend just to get laid. everytime with different partner. i mean....

I guess from a man's point of view, as long as they get to please their little thing, it doesnt really matter. oh why? Im wrong? alright maybe not all men are like that, but I do know alot of them.

The pictures of that pool of single (who knows) ppls dancing on the dance floor under red and blue lights still appear clearly in my head. even though im so hang over right now and wish im home asleep , or drinking more :P but honestly I was one of them, and man i do not ever want to go back to that life! I love the feeling of secure, and settlement. I love my wedding ring, my husband, and my dogs, soon my children.

Saw a friend that I hvent been seeing for two years on the way to work today. She and her husband was carrying the baby trolley down the stairs, and she is so adorable! oh my god, I really wish I am pregnant now.....

But no, just finished school, I gotto at least work for a year before anything. Guess what!? I got a call for an interview, he's going to email me the details , is a small company - maybe just around 10 ppls? a friend worked there before, he didnt really like it but for some reason i know Im going to learn so much from a small structure company like that.

Wish me luck.... now i got my ring, i just need a job and followed by my cert in June.

Job Hunting Status

I must ve sent out 20 applications, and still havent hear anything from anybody...

This is getting really frustrating especially when my bank account has reach the point of negative! so much for my past year saving - i threw them all on the wedding.

well, gotto start from zero again,

I called my ex boss finding out their new hiring plan.

B: " do you know KE is hiring again?"
me : " yea i know, and i had applied to it but he had rejected me before..."
B: " well doesnt mean he's going to reject you forever..."
me : " true, well ok i ll give him a call to find out..."

so i hung up and call KE

KE:" KE speaking"
me: " hi is Nicole...bla bla bla...so I saw you have a new posting, do you think i still stand a chance?"
KE: " well.....I dont think so, coz it hasnt been that long since your last application and we are looking for someone with more experience"
me : " alright...just though I'd check"

I m really hoping I could go back to Schneider Electric, its such a good company to work at. And Im waiting and checking everyday for the new postings like B said is going to be up.

Gosh....I so need a job and get my career started.

House is still a mess but in a good way, we ripped off all the carpet and putting on new laminate floor. It doesnt cost too much coz darling is doing it on his own, Im so proud of him! he actually did a very good job! the room is finished, and just needed the wall painted and installing the baseboards. But we can wait on that one since our new king size bed doesnt come till this thursday.

Living room is in the process of installing baseboard, hopefully we can set up the living tonight because is darling's bday tomorrow :) I am getting rid of the single seat armchair and the recliner, and instead of that im gonna throw a bean chairs to save some space. so the living area will be more spacious and Lex will have more room to move around.

What is my contribution? well nothing really, I just painted all the doors which was an easy job and i guess im painting the room's wall tonight.

Europe Expedition

That two weeks was overwhelming, well why m i complaining when i get to see the world!? but we were on the go everyday, different hotel every night and avg 5 hours on the coach, the only cities we get to spend more than a night are Rome, Paris and London.

We ve visited so many cities, countries - London, Brussels, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Venice, Nice, Monaco, Vatican city, Florence, Lichienstein, Assisi, Lyon, Piza and Paris.

I mean we were most amazed with Brussels, maybe because that was the first city we stopped in but after a while, all buildings look the same...and have we ever had enough of buildings now....

as i mentioned the house was in a disaster, the first instinct we got is - we cant keep Lex anymore.

Thus I posted ads to sell him, surprisingly i got alot of responses, i mean his pictures just stole their hearts. and we found a good candidate for Lex. This couple own a town house with nice back yard, and two cats. She works from home so she could spend time taking care of Lex, and he wouldnt be left alone.

They met Lex yesterday and took him for a walk, fell in love with him and paid me 100$ deposit to take him. Made a vet appointment the next day for vet check, and if Lex passed the Vet check , they are going to take him. We cried last night, and this morning while I packed his bowl, toy, clothes and food.

When i picked Lex up from the shop and about to drive away, Darling stopped my car and asked " are you sure we want to sell him, i mean this is it, there is no turning back "

we talked and talked, we even flipped coin. I mean i filled up this questionaire about the dog's temperaments, he is an excellent dog! obedient, gentle and full of love.

Eventually darling drove to the vet with the deposit and returned to them, we decided to keep him, we cant be part with him anymore... she cried and still trying to talk us into selling Lex. I know they care for him, and Lex will be in good hands. but we just cant do it.

I mean, he's our giant baby..... I admit, Lex was my mistake, but we almost made another mistake we gonna regret for the rest of our life...

after a long long long long flight...we finally got home. with the excitement to see the dogs, we were also prepared for the worst because we ve been told the house is a disaster now!

after saying hi,kiss kiss, hugz hugz with the dogs. we began to explore..... our bed is a complete gone case, and the bedroom smell worse than our high school toilet. Carpet is covered with black spots!

i ve been back for 12 hours now and i havent taken a shower because the bath tub is clog and i ran out of clean clothes because the "cleaned" clothes in the room smell like pee and air canada lost our luggages.

house is freezing cold right now because the heat is out - we just put 500c$ of oil b4 we left and that usually last us a year but it ran out after two months this time....

man, i guess what i can say is - welcome back to the reality!

after dayz of sunny beach and salty ocean (yuck!) , Im back from the islands.

first thing to do in the list was to get my double eye lid surgery, hehe i never mention i was going to do it and it wasnt totally random too. we were all born with mata sepet, and im sick of being called the slenty eyes! Mom got her done 10 years ago, sis got hers last year and they are all beautiful. Finally i got mine yesterday, it was just a 30 mins minor surgery - although i look really awful right now but i hope it will all be worth while.

Im staying in for abit until cny perhaps? wont be seeing nobody.......sighhh i ve been hoping to spend cny at home, but mom decided to plan a family trip to thailand, is a sweeet getaway for her to escape all the cny work, but but i kinda wanna spend time with the rest of the family and friends.....

oh well...it ll be fun.

well actually im kinda sad, i ve been thinking about it since months ago, all these planning is going to be for one big day, well for me i made it worth while, 3 days! but is all gone, and im no longer a bride, just somebody else's wife! they all went well....stressful though, but i do enjoy the process! took lotsa pictures which i havent get to see most of them yet. now i finally feel the vacation just started! penang, langkawi, thailand, cny, and europe!
