Highlights of the week.

All I wanted for xmas is a new laptop which i been longing for the past 6 months.

and I got it! for a really good deal on day after xmas - Boxing day!!

it looks almost exactly like the laptop i used to have but bigger. Anyway thats not the hightlights of the day...I mean days....

Highlight #1 - Xmas eve
crazy intense last minute shopping (wallmart was opened 24 hours week b4 xmas), got all done in 2 hours, yummy big xmas dinner prepared by kenny, turkey, pastas, salmon and the whole nine yards. Nonetheless, besides food , of coz there were presents, they will sink the tree if it wasnt elevated. And the rush of ripping all them up one by one, ohh how i love xmas!

Highlight #2 - Xmas day
relaaaaaaaaaax, and guess wat? we finished the turkey right on xmas day !!! was hoping to have turkey sandwiches for whole week. But not a chance because it was so yummy!!

Highlight #3 - Boxing day
Digged and flipped the flyers b4 went to bed, woke up 5 in the morning and got our asses down to futureshop, got myself this awesome deal laptop Centrino duo core, 1G DDR RAM, 120GB 5.4krpm HD - just these 3 are worth getting up so early. When we got there around 6am, the parking lot was packed, saw ppls with sleepy eyes, probably still in their pjs carrying out boxes in their hands with messy hair. and there were only 3 laptop that i wanted left. and I felt conned because i had to pay 110 extra on top of the "special price" just because it was pre-setup!?! and i dont hv a choice. later of the day stopped by another future shop in langford and found out they dont charge the so called setup fees, WTF? so now i got two exact laptops sitting at home, but one cost 110 less than the other. Thank god for refund policy.

Hightlight #4 - two days later..
Furious about futureshop's money oriented management! brought the laptop back and they will not refund me the 110$ as claimed by "services are not refundable" in another words, pay us for the service and you will not get anything..I was furious! kept chanting the sentence in the customer service counter like a psyco b "there is no way im paying 100 something for nothing", Sabrina was running back and ford trying to make us -customers and the manager happy, why cant the bloody manager just show up and solve this thing!? too busy? i dont think so, i literally saw one wondering around the store aimlessly. anyway we settled for gift cards - do i need anything else from futureshop? no, do i want to ever shop there again? no! well...maybe next boxing day sale, mind me they DO have really good deals, otherwise peoples wouldnt camp overnight for that. I guess i could put up with that once a year :P


Overall, Im happy with my new baby :D

Guess who's the new cover girl? oh my god I closed my eyes and held my breath before Caridee's picture appear on the flat sreen, reason being? i really duwan that B**** melrose to win and honestly Melrose is very strong, i really thought she was gonna win.

The reason she beat Melrose was because she is extreme! her personality just rock ~But still, my all time favourite will still be Elyse Sewell from the very first cycle...

two weeks left before my xmas holiday, ironically, it actually feel kinda sad to be leaving work, 10 days holiday - 5 days of laziness - 3 days of working at the store = 2 days left to finish up two reports writing!!

But see , I planned ahead, instead of letting two reports piling up till the very last minute, i signed up for "lunch and learn" on the 19th, purpose is to push myself to start the research and survey earlier...So when it comes to compiling the report, I actually have all the information and power point slides, enough for me to get it going..

anyway, enough of the boring stuff...

We attended Schneider Christmas party last friday, i actually managed to fit myself into the dress that i bought god know how many years ago, which is my only so called "cocktail" dress... but during last min shopping for wei on thursday, i actually very tempted to get myself a real cocktail dress, but i know it just going to sit in the closet, perhaps wearing it once a year? or not even that...hmmmmm but they are so pretty though. Maybe next occasion...

I so regret that it actually didnt cross my mind to bring my camera and even when I was at the party - totally never thought of snapping pictures!? whats wrong with me? maybe i got too carried away with the food and fun games that was going on..we didnt stay for the dance, which i really wanted to but everybody at my table seemed to be taking off - is like...oh no more goodie bags to be given away, time to go!

Gordon got a 2G Ipod nano, I SO WANT THAT TOO!!!! hmmm jealousnya......

time to do some xmas shopping, but not today, tasks for today are: -
pooky beacon hill park (checked)
pooky bath + advantage day (checked)
clean the house (unchecked)
put away clean laundry that have been in the basket for two weeks (unchecked)
lay on the couch to watch ANTM C6 finale again! (optional....)

so bottom line, time to get my ass off this chair and start working!!

Benjo - the champion dog

Karen Sargent called - theres a new born litter of little pookies, same parent. Thats a sign because the night before we were contemplating if we should get a puppy as xmas present for his parent.

So decision made, and we went to look at 15 puppies on sunday night, as soon as the door was opened, all the adult dogs rushed out and benjo (pooky's father) attacked him! pooky was yelping and crying for help, so darling picked him up, when i tried to pull benjo away to get him in the house, he turned around and bit me, left a bruise and a small bloody scar on my hand.

i was swinging my hand so hard coz it hurted so bad, first time ever in my life got bitten by a dog!! @^#&*%$&^@%!!!!! anyway benjo was punished and locked in the van. After an hour, we finally picked out this puppy which looked identical to pooky (and benjo too) when he was born.

ready and happy so we left, as i was running down the slippery ice slop clumsily, i fell and landed on my bum, this time it hurts even more!!! yea i know, what a day huh!?

yesterday night we got a msg from Karen saying that Benjo was killed and she would like to discuss something about the puppy we picked out. When we called her back, she was sobbing on the phone - Benjo was run over by a car and that pretty much paralyzed him, so he was put down. They wanted to keep the puppy because she looks very alike to Benjo, and we agreed to pick another puppy.

the scar and bruise are still in my hand, but the dog that did that is gone...it just this ironic feeling.. anyway Benjo hope you are happier wherever you are..

Random

Had a short chat with S, and suddenly, it hitted me ( once again) that my life had changed so much ever since I moved to Victoria. She had lived here for quite a few years and moved to vancouver...maybe is the city and more lively life style..she's happier there.. same for K, he claimed that travel 17 hours from another city to a completely different one doesnt change much compare to a two hours ferry ride to a small town.

I admit, it is pain in the ass, or rather a long time to get used to the slow "lay back" life style here..hmmm, maybe i should say is the ppls here, the sulee in klang/kl was the person always surrounded by frens, those that we only hang out and hv fun, or those that we hv heart to heart talk and cried together.. and it hitted me yesterday that over here..i have tonnes of frens to hang out and have fun, BUT those that we can open up, chat and share...zero!

mind me, im loving victoria, more and more...and i can see myself live here with my husband, children and pets for the rest of my life... Is it the place? the ppls? or is myself that is changing...I mean i used to be able to trust everybody and tell everybody everything about me! and slowly Im closing up...why? i dunno.....

I do share alot with darling, and he's always there for me, but it will be nice if i could have this gf to talk about girlie stuff, to share...and to cry together.... maybe the first thing i have to do is first to open up... S quoted that " it is better than to feel, lost than never get to feel at all", becoz ppl move in and out from this town so much, and it is hard to see another fren is leaving...Maybe she is right....

but, like what soprano always say : " what u gonna do? "

But for now, Family matters the most to me...

got panic when it started snowing again!!!

Its been a short day today, Kevin came down saying that he's leaving because it started snowing again and it supposed to pile up to 20cm... SO....i got panic, dragged wei and took off about 1pm, but the funny thing is - as soon as i got home, noo, wait a minute even b4 i got home, the snow stopped - darling came home early today too, everybody is afraid that they gonna get stuck at work without sleeping bag and tent , but it was a nice afternoon chilling with darling and pooky at home with hot mug of cappucino...

got the car cleaned, got the house cleaned, got the meat defrosted and marinated, to welcome in laws returning home tomorrow...

Here's a little story - cousin's wedding was last weekend, and her parent split up 5 yrs ago, see ... i really dont understand , or maybe i DONT CARE about the custom, or so call "kuai gui" (procedures), her mom threw a big big banquet and didnt hv his father's name in the invitation card, so basiclly all the NG family boycotted the dinner because their elder brother's name wasnt printed on the invitation card... and this silent war started... I dunno wedding, banquet suppose to be a celebration: not to her mom! neither to the NG family, but to the newly wedded couple!!! why does she has to deal with all these shit that got passed from the elderly? and why do ppls hv to hold grudge? like ALL THE TIME!!! izzit really so hard to let things go?? If it was me, ill be really sad that my uncles, aunties, cousins didnt show up on my wedding day. Come to think about it, maybe i shouldnt have a wedding at all, kinda scary and troublesome...

snowy monday

Due to the blizzard on sunday afternoon and flurries overnight,
This is what we woke up to on Monday morning, van was completely frozen underneath the snow. This has not happened for the past ten years and the city pretty much shut down on Monday - no work + no school + tonnes of snow = FUN!!!

So everybody went to beacon hill park on a snow FUN day!!

so went snowboarding down the hill - there were tonnes of ppls there playing boogie board or some of them even slided down with piece of cardboard and tyre tube-sure! that works too!!

got my ass and body slammed a few times - no actually almost every single time i went down the hill, whole body is aching today, and i sprained my neck good... sighhh after all, im an Aunty, tak boleh tahan all this unlike 10 yrs ago....but it was fuN!

the 5th attempts -finally posted!!

this is my fifth time for the past few days trying to write an entry - but somehow got distracted and couldnt get anything written down.

now, anything big happened in the past 5 days.......??

not that i can remember right now.

oh yea! the coops in schneider electrics are organizing "pie a manager raffle" to spice up the food bank challenge. Here are the deals: $5 donation to the food bank and you get to throw name of a manager in the box of "managers" to get pied, and ur name in the "executioner" box. On the execution day - 8 managers name will be drawn from the "manager" box to be pied - if we raised more than 300$, all the coop students get pied too! As far as im concern, there's this "top" guy gunning on us.

So yup, all 5 of us, 8 teamleaders and 1 GM are getting pied next thursday!

anyone got cream pie being thrown on their face b4? how does it feel...and wat precaution should i take? ermm ..nono, im not nervous.....

is nov 26th and victoria is covered with snow right now - last week it was 13 degree and is zero today, will get as low as -7 next week...is insane weather one of the global warming effects? *shrug* all i know is im taking the bus tomorrow, not driving in this condition. Most stores is closed today and so are we. Had fun in snow ball fighting and rolling around the snow in the park...esp pooky, he was having the best time ever! ...............apparently snow taste yummy!?!?!

Good let out

I had a good "let out" session last night.

somebody pissed me off real bad yesterday, and came home in a pissy mood. Darling was the unfortunate one to put a small fire onto a big big pot of gasoline, and i erupted, stormed out the house and left him with all the question marks in his mind.

As I was crying and driving around in the car, I wanted somebody there...somebody who will just keep quiet and just be there with me. So i turned back and grabbed pooky. But then of coz b4 i could drive away darling was there to stop me - with the same shocking face and asked me wats going on - so i cried, i yelled, i complaint, and then cried and yelled more...

I noticed I hadnt been doing that for long time, kinda scared myself, and the reason wasnt just that somebody that pissed me off, it involved alot of stress too. I was just letting everybit of it out and really glad I did that......as psycho as I was, i felt so much better just almost instantly. and then I had fun and got really drunk =)

Thank you darling for being there to stroke my back, listening to me and comfort me.

sorry pooky, you looked really worried starring at me yesterday and thank you for those kisses.

I will do that more often, instead of keeping everything inside and let them accumulate. Isnt it healthier that way?

big turn

I had a good day at work today, I always liked Thursday, because it is my weekly check-in with my supervisor, and I always got alot of compliments from him. They made me feel good, made me feel that my hard work is acknowledged, coz im really busting my ass off there. No obligation at all, I enjoy every bit of it.

Had a long chat with John - my office "room mate", I told him that im stubborn sometime, in terms of my education and career path - u know how ppls sometime find themselves changing their interest as they grow? But i ve been trying hard to stay on the same path. I always tot i liked Telecommunication, wireless, (i still do!) but John made me realized something - what you like right now will be different 10 yrs from now. and He's so right, how would i know if i keep constraining myself in a box? i gotto get out there to explore. And im really lucky to be able to join this company because it made me dig out this new perception and curiosity towards computers, software!- John had been there for 6 yrs and he said it is one of the very few places he worked that made him feel happy going to work every morning. to me, that is the killer - how many of them out there actually loving their job?

I will be looking out for the opportunities from schneider - and it is going to be a huge sterling swirl, im nervous...

BORAT - A "must watch''!!

Went for the most hilarious , funniest movie ever just now - Borat , when we first drove to the cinema parking lot, we were all shocked by the crazy crowd, so without knowing what "BORAT" is all about, i was very curious to find out, turned out i laughed so hard in that 82 minutes and i swear, if this was a long ass lord of the ring length movie....i would hv been soooooooooo drained at the end of the movie..actually the truth is , i was kinda exhausted! there are scenes that waaaaaaaaaaaaay crossed over the line, they were funny, disgusting and...and... and... reeeally DISGUSTING!!!

received sms from kelly few days ago asking us to send daimoku to KT who has been suffering from MS for the past...i dunno how long, and he was dying, no actually he passed away two days go...The first time i met him, it was 10 yrs ago and he was around 8 /9. That was even b4 i met kelly....I stayed at my cousin's place for a month and we will ride bicycles around the neighbourhood, and KT is usually carried by his older brother KW on the bike (he wasnt able to walk then), and KW has been always very protective about him.

I dunno him that much personally, years after that i saw him in kelly house every now and then during occasions, and he's a brilliant kid! sad to hear that he's gone, that kinda made me treat my neighbour Tom nicer, when he came over two days ago to pass us something, Tom is suffering from MS too, but he's still able to walk, struggling though, mostly depends on his walker.

I dunno why am i being hooo haa about all these. I always know there are more ppls who are more ill than me, its the fact indeed! But seeing all these actually reminded me, ah lee stop all your "why me? why me?" questions. Face it, and treat it. and I am, once doesnt work, twice...or more...life is only so short, no?

anyway may KT rest in peace....

real halloween, but fake one was more fun!

We know we cant avoid office politics, not esp in a company with more than 300 employees... I had never be more careful in my life in terms of communicating with ppl...esp as an intern, the lowest lowest position, as low as the green green grass...

feel like singing on the top of my lung..i want peaceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~~ peaaaaaaaaceeeeeeeee rolling~~~~~~~but then of coz schneider is great! just that i dont think my sampatness is appropriate.

Anyway some update on the REAL halloween day, Schneider threw an awesome event! games, snacks, drinks and the highlight of all, COSTUME CONTEST! now because we were on a different building, not many ppls from the software showed up (let alone taking part), but of coz we did...hehehe it was so crowded and costume fashion show was great! thre was this girl dressed up as Paris Hilton with stuff toy tinkerbell, and man in box, lotsa pirates and vampires. And i stuck my head in a big bucket of water, outside maybe 4 or 5 degrees, trying to pick an apple out with my mouth..it was a challenge and of coz i lost , guys trust me, is not as easy as it look, i actually cheated, i failed to get a hold of any of the apples, so i bit on the stamp of an apple and finally got it out in like dunno how many seconds coz tat girl didnt bother to count anymore as it took me freaking long...

but it was fun!!!

I cannot believe that I had missed 5 or 6 episodes of America's Next Top Model, ah lee, get back to your TV routine!! im missing all these goodies! but i caught the episode tonight, a recap one, that kinda keep my back in the track... now i have something to look forward on every wednesday, 8 pacific on city TV!!!

Just when I have the mood or have even something to post, shit had to happen....

My uploading cable (or maybe the camera itself) decided to fail on me.

So....halloween costume party pictures (featuring sexy naked ghost, giant scary killer hulk, fire, earth, wind, the corpse bridge and groom etc...) have to be pospone.....damn damn damn!!!

now i have to spend more money on buying a new uploading camera (or maybe a CAMERA!!!??) im so broke....sob sob

this is so frustrating!!gosh please have something to go my way, for once!!!?

Halloween Doggie costume contest

Halloween is next tuesday, but everybody is having their pre-halloween day on the weekend. So there will be two piles of photos : doggie costumes VS human costumes

As I was driving home from my part-time job, i gave darling a call, and he sounded excited and demanded me to go downtown immediately!! so he told me about the doggie contest that was going to start in 10mins - and in my heart i was like - DAMN!!! we should ve gotten pooky a halloween costume at superstore last night when we were picking up ours.
so i stopped by home picked up pooky's "baseball jersey" and this blue hawaiian hula and flew my way downtown. and here we are......pooky said hi to lotsa very interesting dogs.....
