Chris' hair do day

So this coming Saturday Im going to get my hair cut by Leah - Chris's housemate who's a licensed hair dresser. One of the reasons i cut my hair so short last year was becoz of hair damaged. Thus I havent lay a single drop of dye on my hair ever since then. Yesterday, I found out that hair damaged was due to the cheapo hair dye we bought from the drug store - so this weekend, im going to get 3 tonnes (and maybe more...) highlights!! all that for just 60$ - thats like an awesome deal!!

So we went to a store to pick up the color, (which poor Leah got her hand slammed by the van's door, it swell up so bad and that girl never even whine once! *ouch*) , anyway this is not any other regular store, you have to hv a hair stylist license in order to buy in wholesales' price. so, i picked up a ceramic straightening iron for wholesales' price too!! I ve always wanted one but those good ones always cause TOO much ! THANKS LEAH for the hook up!

Just so you know - a flat iron and curling iron are in the "Must Have" list for us - the ladies.

So if you are struggling to buy ur girl a present for coming up event, she will be thrill to receive any of these! ( and dont get those cheopo 30 dollars one coz they never worked!)

So anyway, Chris "volunteerily" be my first guest - lets see how powerful this tool is. (ok I lied when I said volunteerily, he was forced and practically had no choice)

As you can see from his expression - if you are wondering why is Chris' hair so big? he's actually doing a very sweet thing, he's saving it till is really long and shave it all off to donate to the cancer foundation , but because of the curly nature it's now big and really afro-ish!

The process - we took turn to straighten it and and then finally gave up leaving the underneath part , his hair is stubborn! just like mine...So darling came up with this idea to tie them up!

Woke up very very early this morning - talking about last minute study eh?

and the phone rang, was thinking : who could that be that early? sensed that something happened bad home.. but it was darling's mom - got the news that uncle mike (her bro) passed away - cause: unknown - but they are guessing he coughed to dead in his afternoon nap.

after mid term, I spent two hours in some travel agency trying to book a ticket for her to go back - and of coz is all fully booked, after all the alternatives way and with y hard trying - oh believe me when i said "hard" trying, her hair was a messy and she was making phone calls, having two lines at the same time and punching on her keyboard , then! we finally got one that leaves this mid night, seriously when ur so far away, it ll be pretty shitty if anything happen back home.

came home had lunch and nap, ready to go pick up the ticket, but there was problem. which im too lazy to explain here.. 4.30pm, 5pm...6pm...6.30pm... with the clock ticking (dont forget we live on an island and ferry to vancouver is every odd hour).

In that two hours, we saw so many peoples came and left coz she was the only one working, but she ignored and brushed them off - more phone calls, two or maybe three lines at the time, flipping files, raised her voice occasionally (hair even messier) - and when she does that, these three 19 or 20 yrs old kids were laughing and whispering behind her computer screen, which seriously made me wanna slap them!!

one China woman was even worse!! after 30 mins of wait, she just walked up to y n helped herself with the stamp on the table and trying to talk to y when she was on the phone!!! this is what Danny meant - and imagine he is dealing with MILLIONS of them!!

From two ways ticket to one way to rebook which obviously failed, she failed and broke down crying...gosh we felt so bad! she was under lotsa stress and finally lost it. Which we suspected she somehow made some mistake and caused that problem. something bout didnt finalize her purchase according to aunt Jenny..

y was working hard - i bet she was saying prayer when she rested her head on the folder



went to pa and ma, she was all packed and ready to go and she looks trashed with all the crying... goshh geeez i ve grieved so many times great grandma, grandma and grandpa - i was all there and trashed too!

anyway, may uncle mike rest in peace, will bring bah kut teh to your tomb stone when im back next time. Thats good karma for him coz he didnt suffer when he left...

After Pooky barked and chased away a customer in the store today, that was the deciding point that we had to do something about it. We got him a bark collar, not the useless spray collar but the shock collar! (cost freaking 150$!!!!)

Hate to see him yelp but thats the best solution - at one point i could see he was lifted up from the ground a little bit , ouch! but he learned and well behaved now! (thats right after only less than 12 hours)

Please keep it up boy, so that we can take that off soon....

I can officially declare today as the worst day of pig's year ( so far ), this is it! I screwed up sooooooo bad in the interview, totally blew it - never in my life have I performed so badly, never!

Rushed to the car right after the interview and b4 I could reach there, my tears was streaming out too, I know this sounds like im such a wimp - "Oh so you failed an interview, u cried~ STOP BEING SUCH A BABY!!"

well..is not so much about not standing a chance to be hired. It just hit me that im such a big failure.

I was given a pen and paper and supposed to declare a 10 integer array, and build any loop with initial stage zero..I was holding the pen shaking - when it comes to programming Im a total retard, some how got the first question right and followed by creating a for loop, when I almost got it right, i crossed them all out and started a while loop and got stuck. JUST A FREAKING FOR LOOP and him starring at my shaky hand and paper definitely did not help !!!

Seriously, being a final year student in engineering, and of all the things that I had LEARNED? at THIS stage, i could only call myself a loser! I mean my younger sister could score a complicated exclusive nor gate question within 10s - in an interview too!!

and when he asked "what makes me a strong candidate - I started blabbing about how I wanted to join the organization and followed by

me: " believe me, you will see me there one day!"
P : " oh? did someone offer you a job there or something?"
me: " oh nono, Im sorry I dunno why did i say that ... but i mean im really pump up about joining you company"

I think my luck has officially changed as of the year of pig - First I stepped on dog poo on cny eve, then won whole lots of money from the Casino...Then I was drawn for participated in an evaluation from this career fare and won a gift basket.

Last night, when pooky came into the car from the park, there was this funky strong smell (again)!! gosh, pooky got some poo on him, maybe it was on his butt, or he stepped on it...so after spraying air freshner in the car and pushing him on the ground for 10 mins , we stopped by home b4 attending dinner so i could wash pooky, finally he's cleaned, but somehow the smell was still there!!

So it rang my bell to check my shoes, IT WAS ME AGAIN!!! i ve had a Pooky for more than a year now, but never had these kinda incidents until 5 days ago... maybe its time to hit the casino again?

hopefully this is really "luck" , I could really use some of that on my job interview tomorrow...

Just found out that one of our midterms is postponed to Friday instead of Tuesday, phhhheeeew! Time for a nap (gosh im such a pig!)

This reading break has been .....superb!

but of coz not much "reading" has been done - but I have my excuse, is cny mahhh...

so the cny mood officially ended after the casino night, i miss home like crazy, so crazy that .... calling uncle 7's house on their open house night (which was 4am in freakin morning for me!), so when he picked up the phone, the first minute of our conversation he thought I was my sister. then second minute he passed to my grandma...like damn layan right!?!?

anyway, Naoki's mom - Yoko arrived from Japan yesterday, and she brought us some nice Japanese snack - some kinda rice cake which looks too pretty to be eaten and sake chocolate (yummm~)

The liquor is trapped in the middle of the chocolate, and when you get to it...mmmmmm~

don't they look like those dim sum that were made for the china emperor - so pretty!

Yoko is an interesting character, she's so outgoing and cute, although half of the time I didnt understand what she was saying, but she would take the effort to speak slowly - in japanese with some english and the hand gestures helped big time! She reminds me of my mom...

We had really late dinner last night because I was babysitting at home, and i love this idea, the boys were sent to my house and all i needed to do is fixed them some dinner and popped in the tom and jerry video - is so funny just to watch their expressions as they were watching TV. But I think the one had most fun was darling, he sure enjoyed the pillow fight with the boys.

awww, now we want kids... :P

oh yea, I was so happy that I got an interview with Schneider!! got me all excited and then a little disappointed when I found out that they are interviewing everybody that applied to that job. So I have 9 other competents - it really doesn't make sense for them to interview everybody!? well anyway, wish me luck...

Casino on 2nd day of cny

From a little banlat session, we made it all the way to Casino on second day of cny.

I told you the dog shit worked!!! I was the winner! but somehow my appearance seemed to get everybody else in the table lose : for example, the two "elegant" Filipino ladies besides me.

I might not know the game, trying to split two face cards and got yelled at!

F lady1: "nonono you cannot split the card like that...."

me: "oh ok, pulled my money back"

F lady2: "yea....*started mumbling some shit*"

*dealer gave me a sympathy look and continued dealing*

wise guy next to me : "bla bla bla bla......." *trying to explain to me why i shouldnt split which i still didnt get it *

F lady 1: "if you are betting 100$, we ll respect that, but we have more money on the table than you..."

me : *GASP!!!*

ok! i apologize for my gesture but was the last comment really necessary!?

in the end, i did enjoy a little pleasure of seeing them losing......bite me!

Chaos

Its chinese new year's eve (除夕夜）- China town was busy busy, we already bought 80$ worth of grocery last night and still needed two trips to china town. Now I understood what my mom was saying - " tee tee buey tee buey, ming kia kana buey beh liao ani kuan, wah keh nee xiang kah ai pah jian kai yam liow" ( I kept buying and buying is like never ending, cny for me is like storing up food upon war)

But of coz my case isnt as extreme as hers. Better yet, darling suggested we should do "steamboat" , so senang lah, just buy all the balls, meat, etc...kan tak payah masak? So I carried hundreds of bags in my hands + Pooky, and I noticed he was doing his squating pose, So i dragged him hopefully we could make another block to reach the store. BUT NO! he really had to go and finally did it under the tree - GOD DAMN IT! I had to drop those heavy bags and pick up after him. So we kept walking and one of the plastic bag decided to fail on me and all my cans and kun tao started falling off on the street, gosh I was so frustrating!! I had to drop those bags again and pick them up. Can you picture me with messy hair and clumsily picking up those kun tao?

Gosh! I cant picture the cny when I have kids....is going to be chaos!

I happened to come across a maggie mee contest and saw those TV commercials few days ago, so I finally bought some maggie mee from china town "asam laksa" and "kari" flavor + Yeo's air tebu - wahhhhh feeeel so at home, it was the most satisfying lunch I havent had in a long long time.

and I dunno if this is good luck? I smelled something funky and tried to look around the store floor to check if pooky pooped somewhere, (yes again!), turned out! i stepped kao si!! and ironically I felt happy coz I think that means I will be having good fortune in coming pig's year. teeeheee!

So I was told - the experiment yesterday was all about how fast my brain correlated to my gesture respond. For example, it should be faster for me to grab the stick whenever i see a blue beer mug on the screen as grabbing the stick is a gesture of holding a beer mug, but I should be slower when I see a green beer mug as grabbing a ball is supposingly completely irrelevant - and the other way round when I see a frying pan. I guess that kind of make sense except that I kept gotten flashes of "TOO SLOW" towards the end of it as the caffeine wore off....

Happy Valentine's day

Besides the fact that i am very much interested in psychology course, whats even better is they have all the studies research for students to sign up, if you be the guinea pig for each study you will earn some credit as a reward for participation. 10 credits = 1 free grade !

The first one I participated was very interesting, I was suppose to find the suspect who convicted into a break in crime. But today.....all I did was if i see green , i suppose to grab the metal ball with my right hand on my left and if i see blue, grab the metal stick with my left hand on my right. I was just doing that gesture for the whole freaking half an hour!!!! gosh! but is valentine's day im in good mood.

what sucks the most is after exchanging gift and romantic dinner, I have to get back to my books.what a pooper eh!?

Once again, pooky ate whole bunch of chocolate from the chocolate basket, while we were "busy". I honestly dunno what to do with him.

I dunno whats going on, I been too, i mean way too lazy - stayed up till I dunno 6 or 7 this morning then finally doze off after my 3rd shot.

Skipped class and work this morning and then went to school with my sleepy head and randomly knocked my head into this big man's arm, he was with his two cute kids and wife before going into the movie. So embarassed and quickly ran off and caught these few guys laughing at me.

Then I dropped big stake of brochures and papers in the middle of big crowds and clumsily tried to pick them up.

After the weekend from salt spring, first we heard detection of plates movement exactly right underneath southern Vancouver Island - Victoria. So there was a major earthquake warning from this week onwards.

Then next day, a minor (approx 2.1 magnitude) earthquake happened in Ganges town, Salt Spring Island - no reports of damages or injuiries.

Curious what to do in the event of a tsunami? A new brochure that Greater Victoria’s municipalities have jointly put together provides a wide range of information concerning how people can protect themselves from a tsunami should one ever strike the region. The Learn to Protect Yourself from a Tsunami brochure stresses that residents should be aware that there isn’t a huge chance that a tsunami will hit the region. “The main point of the brochure really is to educate our residents of Greater Victoria that the risk of a tsunami in our area is relatively low so they don’t panic when they hear a tsunami warning on the radio,” said Brenda Warner, emergency co-ordinator for Esquimalt’s emergency program.



From the last two events of Tsunami caused enormous lives loss and huge damages to several countries. So when I first read the headline, I was like OMG!! but after finished reading the article...it makes me feel better

2. Tsunami occurs (if occurs) will have the same impact as a winter storm.

pheeeeew! I called home and told mom about it which instantly regret coz she sounded worried on the phone. What was I thinking, it was my gossipy intention.

I did come across an interesting job in one of the booth though - as an Interlligence officer, as in a spy or CIA in the states. oooo, that will be exciting!

watched Jackass 2 the movie, oh gosh gosh gosh, these boys are probably millionaires but the things they would do, do they actually feels good after those "stunts" , maybe is the sense of achievement like "DUDE! did u see that? oh...F*** that was gnarly"

at the end of the movie there was this warning "the stunts u ve just seen were performed by professionals, please do not do this at home bla bla bla" - and I asked out loudly " is that what they call themselves? professional stunt men?"

but they are pretty funny though, haha

The second day, I was so sick of meat and all I wanted was a mi maggie perisa ayam, but of coz we couldnt find any maggie mee in salt spring punya supermarket (not even any kinda instant noodle), so i got "chicken" flavoured noodle soup and hot tea for lunch.

damn!

Once again, is freaking hard to get my ass of the bed this morning, i was 15 mins late for the class!! (usually was just 10)... sneaked in the class dragging my sleepy head, tried so hard not to fall asleep and concentrade, oh gosh tat was hard, for such an interesting class and good teacher - why does it have to be scheduled at 830 in the morning!!??

not that i have not try going to bed early...I dunno maybe is the hormon...

have only one hour b4 work, and i had to run few errands in school, one of them is printing off my lab report and hand it in, once again i sneaked in a computer lab when computer science class just about to start, when i was lepaking around the printer waiting for my report, I felt the whole class was starring at me coz the teacher made some comment about : "if ur not in csc 100, please leave and do not print from this lab coz it doesnt require u to print anything yet"

gosh i felt like digging a hole and jump right in there, so I shhuuu the printer to work faster and gotten my ass out!

and what is this about people with their 3 or 5 Cs - i mean congratulation that you just bought a house with ur love one, but but...gosh i really dunno what to say.

somehow we all are depending on these "luxuries", ur sparkling spotless house , the nice sport car sitting in ur garage(undriven). Theres this saying from this movie " The things you own will end up owning you!", really come to think about it.....For some reason, messy dirty house with dishes piling in the sink and books flowing all around the floor works better for me.
